Scams Awareness Week

Custodio is supporting Scams Awareness Week 2026

Scams Awareness Week 2026. No one’s just a number. Stop. Check. Protect. 24 to 28 August.

We are backing Stop. Check. Protect., the three steps at the heart of this year’s campaign. Stop before you move money or share details. Check that the person or organisation is really who they say. Protect yourself by acting fast, and report it to Scamwatch even if nothing was taken.

Those three steps are what Custodio does in the background: watching for out-of-character payments and alerting you, and optionally a trusted Guardian, while there is still time to act.

David Birch: Even smart people are being targeted by sophisticated scams

New commentary from digital identity expert David Birch reinforces a truth we see every day: even smart, capable people are being targeted by increasingly sophisticated scams, and human judgement alone isn't enough. Birch argues that communities need better infrastructure, cross‑bank visibility, and supportive safeguards for older and vulnerable people.

This is exactly the problem Custodio was built to solve. Custodio provides early‑warning protection, behavioural intelligence, and optional guardian support to help families stay safe before money is lost. Scams are evolving. Our protection must evolve too.
